Brown University Funds
Among other institutional grants, the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation has allocated funds to Brown University to provide scholarships and to support research studies.
Molecular Biology Scholarship and Research Fund: The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation allocates scholarship funds for talented Boğaziçi University students to receive post-graduate, doctoral and post-doc education at Brown University. The aim of the scholarship is to support joint research projects and to encourage student exchange between the two universities. The program is carried out in collaboration with Prof. Justin Fallon and Prof. Anne Hart. Within the framework of the scholarship fund, a workshop entitled “Model Organisms in Neurodegenerative Diseases” is organized biannually. The 2 ½ day workshop involves the active participation of 5-6 professors from Brown University and Turkish students who study at the university with Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation support. Moreover, didactic seminars on animal models used in biology and practical sessions for bio-informatics are carried out during the workshop.
Brain Sciences Fund: The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation also supports the Brain Sciences Program at Brown University, led by Prof. John Donoghue. The aim of the scholarship is to support research projects and to provide financial aid to post-graduate, doctoral and post-doc students.
