The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation scholarship that was granted to me in Autumn 2012 helped me complete the research period of my Ph.D. project on the transformation of nocturnal, physical and social sites in late Ottoman Istanbul. Documents from the Ottoman Archives of the Prime Minister's Office and the periodicals from the Atatürk Library comprised the basic material of my thesis. The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation’s Istanbul Research Institute Library also allowed me to have a productive research period in terms of both sources and study environment. During my scholarship period, I wrote "Rule, Misconduct, and Dysfunction: The Police Forces in Theory and Practice in Fin-de-Siècle Istanbul", which was later published in 2014 in the journal of Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

After the completion of the SVİKV scholarship period, I gave a speech at the Istanbul Orient - Institute titled "Industrial Light and Its Influences on Istanbul Streets and Public Life during the Late Ottoman Period".  In 2013, I attended the Istanbul Studies Center at Kadir Has University as "doctoral fellow". I am at the last stage of my thesis project within the History Department of the Binghamton University. I currently continue my studies as project assistant in the "Bosphorus Archives" project conducted within the Bosphorus University.
